I just could never trust that I wasn't introducing artifacts in my recording due to DPC latency.įrom what I heard from Focusrite tech support, using an ASIO driver is probably much better. I finally gave away the Scarlett 2i2 and went with a dedicated recorder (Tascam DA-3000).

But when I used a signal generator as a source, I could see them. And to make it worse, the glitches I was getting were small enough that they could easily be dismissed as clicks or pops on the record. I could never really trust that I was getting glitch free recordings. I spent dozens of hours trying all of the possible solutions, and while I was able to get it to work sometimes, it was just too unstable. The Windows operating system is not a real time system, and an issue with DPC Latency (Google it for tons of good info) is always a possibility. But in the end I gave up trying to make real time recordings over USB. The support at Focusrite was very helpful.
